Mahesh Vaman Manjrekar (born 16 August 1958) is an Indian actor, film director, screenwriter, and producer who works primarily in Hindi films, alongside Marathi, Telugu, and Bhojpuri films. He is credited with directing the critically acclaimed films Vaastav: The Reality (1999), Astitva (2000), and Viruddh… Family Comes First (2005). He has won a National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Marathi for Astitva and two Star Screen Awards. He is also known as host of the reality show, Bigg Boss Marathi since 2018.
Manjrekar was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. He started his career as an actor in Marathi films in the early 1980s. He made his Hindi film debut in the 1990 film Aaina. He gained critical acclaim for his performance in the 1999 film Vaastav: The Reality. He has since appeared in a number of Hindi films, including Kaante (2002), Slumdog Millionaire (2008), and Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai (2010).
Manjrekar has also directed a number of films, including the Marathi films Aai (1995), Vaastav: The Reality (1999), and Astitva (2000). He has also directed the Hindi films Nidaan (2000), Viruddh… Family Comes First (2005), and Satyagraha (2013).
Manjrekar is married to Medha Manjrekar. They have four children together: Saiee Manjrekar, Satya Manjrekar, Ashwami Manjrekar, and Sai Manjrekar.
